Governor Faisal Karim Kundi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has called for an overhaul of the province's railway system, specifically highlighting the need to revive the Landi Kotal Tourist Train. During a meeting in Islamabad on November 8, the Governor stated that these improvements are necessary to promote tourism, assist passengers, and stimulate economic activity.

The Governor met with Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi to review proposals for making the railway network in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa more modern, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the public. The discussions focused on upgrading facilities across the province and enhancing the general quality of railway operations.

Both officials held detailed talks regarding the restoration of the Landi Kotal Tourist Train. The Governor described the revival of this specific train as a vital initiative for the region's tourism development, noting it would provide better travel opportunities and strengthen the local economy. Kundi added that an improved rail system would contribute to the promotion of trade in the province.

The meeting also covered the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and current development projects. Governor Kundi emphasized that effective coordination between the federal and provincial governments is essential to accelerate development, improve public services, and bring underdeveloped areas into the national mainstream.

The two leaders agreed on the necessity of joint efforts to improve railway infrastructure and address public issues within the province.
