Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), has started a multi-day official visit to Sindh. According to an official statement released in Peshawar on Sunday, November 8, the tour is intended to inspect BISP operations, assess how public services are delivered, and review district-level facilities.
The official statement notes that the visit aims to ensure funds are distributed seamlessly, monitor how administrators perform, and directly evaluate the relief mechanisms set up for vulnerable beneficiaries in the province.
Senator Khalid began her tour in Karachi at the BISP Central Zonal Office in Jacobline, Saddar. During an administrative review there, she assessed regional operations and told officials to keep strict standards of efficiency and transparency.
The Chairperson then moved to the BISP District Office in Badin, situated at the Elementary College Agrovil Colony. There, she observed local operations and inspected beneficiary facilitation centers in person.
In Tharparkar, Senator Khalid reviewed BISP operations at the district office located within the Mukhtiarkar Office premises in Mithi. She is scheduled to meet with the District Commissioner of Mithi on Monday to talk about administrative coordination and how to streamline targeted welfare initiatives across that district.
Senator Khalid emphasized that BISP serves as Pakistan’s primary social safety net. She reaffirmed that direct field assessments and continuous monitoring are essential to making sure financial aid reaches eligible households without disruption or delay.
