South DIG Syed Asad Raza has suspended Pak Colony station house officer (SHO) Faisal Gul following the circulation of an audio recording on social media. The recording reportedly showed the SHO trying to resolve the issue through reconciliation.

According to a departmental order, the audio surfaced on social media on Nov 5. It allegedly features Faisal Gul and a police constable in an “unauthorised, compromising conversation with a known drug peddler, Kashif alias Dada”. The order stated that the SHO “compromised the writ of law” by pursuing mutual reconciliation with a criminal and directing his subordinate to apologise to the drug peddler.

A police spokesperson stated that the department will approach the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency for technical verification of the audio clip.
