Pakistan Railways approved 829 vacancies under the Balochistan quota to bolster its workforce. The available positions range from Grade 1 to Grade 16.

Hackers are exploiting security flaws in PHP that allow attackers to run malicious commands without a password. Security researchers identified these vulnerabilities as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619.

Adel Karimi discovered the attacks while monitoring honeypots. Attackers ran commands on test servers using Apache and PHP version 8.4.26.

Researchers recorded 35 successful command executions on 24 October originating from two IP addresses. Hackers accessed approximately 800KB of memory data during the breach.

Lancashire will not renew the contract of James Anderson, marking the end of his professional career with the club. The county side finished in second bottom of Division Two in the County Championship last season.

Director General National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a meeting on 27 October to evaluate the agency's social media strategy. Authorities have postponed the opening of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project for the sixth time. The 38.3-kilometre road features six lanes and five interchanges.

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has established 20 November 2026 as the final date for schools to provide student enrollment figures. Institutions operating under Phase 3 of the Public Schools Reorganization Program (PSRP) are required to upload this information via the School Information System (SIS).

All PSRP Phase 3 schools must adhere to specific guidelines for the entry, submission, and verification of student records. Every student enrolled for the current academic year must have their data entered into the SIS-1 platform.

Schools are responsible for ensuring that all records reach the system in their final form before the cutoff. Once the system locks, administrators will be unable to input new enrollment data or perform any further modifications.

Only the data successfully uploaded to the SIS by the 20 November deadline will be considered during the verification process.

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan instructed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to remove all encroachments from its land on Tuesday. During the meeting, Khan directed the agency to expedite road repairs and patchwork on the Lahore-Gujranwala section of the GT Road.

The minister called for the immediate rehabilitation of National Highway N-5. Progress on the Sambrial-Kharian Motorway (M-12) currently stands at 21 per cent.

Authorities described the incident as a terrorist attack. Ivica Dacic stated the attacker rushed at a police officer with two knives while shouting "Allahu Akbar".

Overseas Pakistanis can now register on the Pak ID app using mobile numbers from their respective countries of residence. This digital platform enables citizens living abroad to apply for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).

Syed Shabahat Ali stated that applicants do not need a Pakistani SIM card to create an account or request identity documents via the application. Users are able to choose their specific country of residence and input a local mobile number during the sign-up process.

Technical issues arise when users select Pakistan as their current country of stay, as the system then demands a Pakistani number to send a one-time password. For example, a Pakistani citizen living in Canada should choose Canada as their country of stay to avoid registration errors.

A mobile number remains a mandatory requirement to activate a digital identity on the Pak ID platform.

The Kabul Institute published a report identifying transparency gaps in foreign aid provided under the Afghan Taliban regime, totaling USD 8 billion. United States, United Kingdom, and Germany served as the primary donors for these funds.

A specific analysis revealed that 91% of the total funds, amounting to USD 21.9 million, were linked to 316 individual payments. Further data shows USD 1.42 billion was allocated across 1,208 projects.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) began a three-day One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization (OHZDP) workshop in Islamabad on 28 October. Experts and stakeholders from every province and region of Pakistan gathered to participate in the sessions.

The One Health Secretariat at the NIH leads this initiative under the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination. Strengthening coordination between environmental, animal, and human health sectors serves as the primary goal for addressing zoonotic diseases and new public health risks.

The OHZDP process focuses on identifying and ranking zoonotic diseases that present major risks to the public. Funding for the workshop comes from a Pandemic Fund Grant.

Provincial governments, One Health stakeholders, and various other partners are conducting the workshop in collaboration. This initiative may lead to better joint planning, information-sharing, and coordination among national institutions.

Bank Alfalah shortlisted 52 high-potential candidates as finalists for its Alfa Lead Management Trainee Program. The selection process followed a series of evaluations where 100 applicants moved forward to panel interviews.

Prior to the interviews, 302 individuals were chosen to participate in assessment centers. A nationwide marketing campaign for the 2026 edition of the program began in February 2026.

The Islamabad High Court upheld a stay order against the demolition of a graveyard situated in Mouza Seri Saral, Sector D-12. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan warned that any violation of the court's directive would trigger immediate contempt proceedings and potential imprisonment.

The judge stated, "Inform everyone that if the order is violated, I will send them to jail." A full six-month sentence for contempt would be awarded if the stay is breached, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan added.
