Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman also strongly condemned the alleged murder of Rabia Ahsan on Sunday. In a post on X, Rehman described the killing of another young professional woman as deeply tragic and alarming. She stated that allegations that Rabia Ahsan had been murdered by her husband were extremely disturbing and warranted serious attention.

Rehman characterized violence against women as unacceptable, unjustifiable and intolerable under any circumstances, stating that no woman should have to fear for her life, particularly within her own home. She recalled the killing of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi a few months ago and questioned, “How many more women will have to lose their lives before violence against women is treated with the seriousness and urgency it deserves?” Rehman urged authorities to ensure an immediate, comprehensive, impartial and transparent investigation into all aspects of the incident, stating that anyone found responsible should be awarded the full punishment prescribed under the law.
