Samar Haroon Bilour, Advisor to the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement, has ordered a comprehensive audit of official vehicle records. The audit covers the Department of Information and Public Relations and its attached organizations.

The directive, issued on November 6, seeks details on all vehicles reported missing, untraceable, or unaccounted for over the past 13 years. Bilour stated the audit aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and the effective utilization of public resources by identifying discrepancies and determining responsibility for missing assets.

Relevant authorities must submit complete records of all official vehicles owned by, allocated to, or currently used by the department and its attached organizations. This information must include registration numbers, makes and models, and the names and designations of the officers to whom the vehicles were assigned.

Bilour has directed officials to identify those responsible for vehicles that have gone missing or remained untraceable during the 13-year period. She ordered the issuance of notices to the concerned officers, demanding they produce all missing vehicles within 72 hours. Bilour warned that failure to comply with this deadline would result in departmental and legal action against those found responsible.

The Department of Information and Public Relations was instructed to verify all records and submit a comprehensive report to Bilour’s office within five days. Bilour emphasized that protecting government resources remains among the administration’s top priorities, noting the audit is intended to identify instances of irregularities, mismanagement, or negligence.
