The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government held discussions to identify measures for simplifying business regulations and boosting industrial investment in the province.
According to a press release issued by the SIFC on Saturday, November 7, a delegation including the Director General and Secretary of the SIFC visited Peshawar. They met with the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to discuss coordinated efforts to improve the provincial business environment and promote industrial development.
During the meeting, the SIFC delegation briefed the Chief Secretary on the Council’s regulatory reform agenda. This includes the implementation of the Asaan Karobar Act, the development of the National Business Portal, and the establishment of Business Facilitation Centres. These initiatives are intended to simplify licensing and registration procedures, reduce regulatory bottlenecks, and provide entrepreneurs with streamlined access to government services.
The SIFC expressed appreciation for the KP Government for adopting the Asaan Karobar Act, noting it reflects a commitment to creating a more conducive environment for investment.
The meeting also addressed the optimization of key Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the province, specifically Hattar, Rashakai, and Daraban. The parties discussed improving infrastructure, operational efficiency, and investment readiness to attract new enterprises, encourage private-sector participation, and generate employment.
The Chief Secretary of KP acknowledged the SIFC’s role in investment facilitation and promised the provincial government’s full cooperation. Both parties emphasized the need for sustained institutional coordination to implement the agreed initiatives.
The SIFC stated it is working with provincial governments under the Prime Minister’s special directives to simplify procedures and create a transparent operating environment. This engagement with the KP government is part of a broader effort to translate policy reforms into practical improvements and unlock provincial investment potential.
