Moore Threads has released an update for its MTT AICUBE home AI hub that expands the capabilities of the device's Xiaomai AI Agent. According to reports from Yesky and Sina Technology published on November 6, the MTT AIOS 1.6.1 update provides users with smart-home control, direct access to local files, and a companion mobile client. The reports clarify that this is a recent rollout of software rather than a new hardware launch.

The update allows the Xiaomai AI Agent to support Matter and ZigBee protocols, as well as third-party smart-home ecosystems. Moore Threads states that users can use natural-language voice instructions to manage lights, curtains, air conditioners, and other connected appliances. The company says the hub can coordinate routines involving several devices at once, providing examples such as scheduling a robot vacuum, operating pet-care devices, and adjusting room climate and lighting. However, the reports do not provide a complete compatibility list or confirm that every appliance will work without additional setup.

The update also links the AI agent to Olares, a file-management application available through the device's marketplace. This integration allows users to create, copy, move, delete, and retrieve local files, including documents, images, and videos, via conversation. A new semantic image search feature allows users to describe a memory, such as photos from a beach trip last month, to search an Olares picture folder. Additionally, the reports state that once users connect supported messaging applications like WeChat or Feishu, the assistant can send retrieved pictures into a conversation.

Other features included in the update are a desktop-pet mode, which replaces the full-screen assistant with a smaller animated character that changes appearance based on its status, and browser-based access to additional streaming services with voice-controlled playback. A companion phone app is now available on Apple's App Store and major Android marketplaces, supporting remote file viewing, uploads, downloads, and phone-photo synchronization with the AICUBE. While the official English product page confirms the assistant's name as Xiaomai AI Agent, the official English name for the mobile client was not specified in the announcements.
