Huawei has officially released its Work office agent as a standalone application in the HarmonyOS PC AppGallery, according to a report by IT Home on November 6. The software, which carries version number 11.7.9.300, was previously integrated into the computer operating system but now exists as a separate app to provide a distribution channel for updates outside of the system-level package.

The Work function first entered internal testing in September, and the current release moves the office assistant beyond that test phase. Users can provide a single instruction to delegate tasks such as weekly reports, slide preparation, and data analysis. According to the report, the agent breaks an objective into steps, selects tools, and carries out the work to produce usable Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents rather than only returning a conversational answer.

Huawei's Chinese product page describes both local-computer and cloud-PC execution environments. Users can select an environment based on the specific software and files required for a task. Huawei states that progress remains visible so users can review important checkpoints, rather than leaving every stage to an unattended agent. The service also supports connectors to office platforms including Feishu and DingTalk.

Huawei claims that more than 200 domain experts and expert teams are available within the service. These are product claims and have not been independently assessed for task quality or successful completion.

The service allows a connected HarmonyOS phone to remotely dispatch work to a computer, monitor progress, and receive completed results. Huawei says tasks can continue after a user leaves the PC, and one phone can connect to multiple computers. However, actual execution still depends on the selected device, files, and environment being available.

IT Home reports that Work uses a membership model with AI points to measure task consumption, where more complex work consumes different amounts. IT Home's report does not list current subscription prices. This development is distinct from a November 5 report regarding openPangu-2.1-Pro appearing inside the service. Huawei has not confirmed an official English name for this China-market Work product.
