A lawyer has filed a complaint with the NCCIA against the people behind Alishba Noor, a viral social media character allegedly created entirely using artificial intelligence (AI) and presented as a female lawyer. The complainant alleges that Noor is a completely fake, AI-generated character.
The character gained attention on TikTok through videos that appeared to show her accompanying popular Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt to court. The account reportedly attracted hundreds of thousands of followers within a short period before being suspended by TikTok. However, another account popped up soon after and has posted multiple of her videos on it. The videos are still watchable on TikTok, but they are entirely AI-generated and fake.
The complainant alleged that the creators used artificial intelligence to develop a fictional female character and present her as a practicing lawyer. The complaint states that the videos misused the professional attire associated with lawyers and damaged the dignity of the legal profession, particularly female lawyers. The complainant argued that lawyers’ uniforms represent professional identity, responsibility, and respect, and should not be used to mislead viewers or generate social media attention through fictional characters.
The lawyer also raised concerns about presenting an AI-generated individual as a real legal professional without making the character’s artificial nature clear.
The complainant has requested the NCCIA to investigate the viral videos and the social media accounts associated with Alishba Noor. The application calls on the agency to identify the individuals responsible for creating, managing, and distributing the AI-generated content. It also seeks legal action against those involved if investigators establish that any laws were violated. The complaint specifically asks authorities to examine the misuse of professional identity and the impact of the videos on the reputation of lawyers.
For now, the allegations remain part of the complaint, and no findings against the account’s creators have been publicly established.
