A character portraying Elon Musk appeared on the "Saturday Night Live" Weekend Update desk this week to address the results of the midterm elections. The character, played by "SNL" featured player Jeremy Culhane, struggled to respond to questions regarding the outcome.

The real Musk spent nearly $500 million on Republican candidates, particularly in his home state of Texas, which subsequently saw most of its statewide races turn Democratic. Anchor Colin Jost attempted to get "Elon Musk" (Culhane) to address the spending, stating, "Elon, you’ve been in the news because you wasted half a billion dollars on the midterms."

"Elon" attempted to deflect by discussing a car flip, saying, "No, I’m in the news because my car did a flip. My car did a flip. Remember? It was like a freaking Hot Wheel. It was like, and then pop, but I was like totally chill. I was like thug life. Imagine."

When Jost asked about halting production on Tesla’s Cybertruck, "Elon" responded, "Hey, remember when my car did a flip? It was epic. It was like, but everyone was like, ‘Whoa!’ But I was just like, ‘Hold my beer.’" The character then began to ramble about hanging out with "Che" and imagining his leather jacket becoming a suit of armor.

Jost then recapped Musk's history, noting that he moved to Texas because California was run by Democrats, moved his companies there to avoid taxes, and built his own town. Jost pointed out that because Texas is now run by Democrats, Musk will have to pay taxes, asking, "So how does that make you feel?"

"Elon" responded, "Bad."

Jost remarked, "I guess that’s what I thought. I mean, I would feel bad too."

"Elon" called this an "epic vulgar roast" from Jost, whom he called his "poorest friend." He described an "epic vulgar roast" as his AI Grok’s "most epic hardcore feature," calling it "so vulgar and hilariously funny."

Musk then asked Grok to perform several "epic vulgar roasts" at his own expense. The AI produced roasts stating that Musk is "the worst thing South Africa has ever done," that he feels like an episode of "Hate on the Spectrum" on TV, and that if he has 100 more kids, one will talk to him. "Elon" screamed, "Shut it down, Grok, shut it down," as he exited the desk.
