Former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif visited Daanish School Islamabad on Friday, November 6, to inspect the campus and engage with the student body. During his tour, he reviewed classrooms and laboratories while learning about the students' educational activities and future goals.
School officials provided Shehbaz with a briefing on the institution's teaching methods, extracurricular arrangements, and academic facilities. They informed him that the academic block contains 24 classrooms. The officials also noted that various student societies have been established to promote history, geography, fine arts, science, and literary activities.
The briefing revealed that the school dedicates Saturdays to project-based learning. Additionally, teachers and psychologists focus on personality development, interpersonal communication, and life skills for the students. Regarding morning assemblies, officials stated they are generally held house-wise to give students more opportunities to participate in speeches and activities, with a combined assembly held once a week.
During the visit, Shehbaz emphasized the importance of teaching the Holy Quran along with its translation. Officials confirmed that arrangements for Quranic education for both boys and girls have been made under teacher supervision.
Shehbaz also visited the laboratories and classrooms to speak with students from various parts of the country. He asked about their family backgrounds, studies, and career plans. One student from Haripur told him her father works as a laborer in house construction, while another student shared her ambition to become a pilot. Shehbaz encouraged the students to work hard to achieve their ambitions.
Finally, school officials briefed the former chief minister on the use of digital learning tools, such as tablets, which are used to help students improve their creative writing skills and conduct research.
