The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the creation of a Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) Complex at the Old Naval Headquarters Building in Sector G-6, Islamabad. An office order from the CDA Administration Directorate on November 6, 2026, mandates the immediate withdrawal and reallocation of office spaces for three directorates.
As part of the reshuffling, the Islamabad Water Agency (IWA) will move from its current first-floor location at the Old Naval Headquarters Building to Rooms 1 to 25 of the DMA Office in the Fire Headquarters Building, Sector G-7/1.
The Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) is scheduled to move from the Fire Headquarters Building to the Old Naval Headquarters Building in Sector G-6. The DMA has been assigned Rooms 141 to 144, 147 to 156, 158, 159, 159-A, 159-B, 160 to 167, 170 and 181 on the first floor of that building.
The Maintenance Directorate will be relocated to Rooms 125 to 133 and 138 to 140 of the Old Naval Headquarters Building.
The CDA order specifies that only movable assets, such as office furniture, equipment, computers, stores, and official records, are to be shifted. The order explicitly states that no immovable items or fixtures, including wall-mounted air conditioners, built-in furniture, electrical fittings, and partitions, will be removed, dismantled, or damaged, and all such fixtures must remain intact in their existing condition.
Directors of the affected departments have been instructed to personally supervise the shifting process through their administration sections without disrupting official business. The Director Security was also directed to coordinate and ensure necessary security arrangements during the move.
The Administration Directorate must receive the handing and taking over of vacated accommodations, inventories of fixed assets, and signed reports within three days of the order's issuance.
