North Korea fires dozen short-range ballistic missiles towards East Sea

North Korea launched approximately 12 short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on 29 October. The Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that the projectiles originated from the Wonsan area.
Japan's Defence Ministry stated that Pyongyang fired what may be a ballistic missile during the operation. The South Korean army intensified its surveillance and remained alert for any further launches from the North.
Seoul maintained a strong defensive stance by sharing information closely with the United States and Japan. Japan's Coast Guard advised vessels to monitor the area for information and stay away from any debris that might have fallen.
This follows a previous incident on 12 October when North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles from the Pyongyang area toward the East Sea.
