London's King's Observatory in Old Deer Park goes up for sale

The King's Observatory in Old Deer Park, London, is currently for sale for an asking price of £18 million. Construction of the observatory began in the 1760s.
King George III and Queen Charlotte commissioned the building to observe the transit of Venus in 1769. Following the transit, the site served as a location to verify instrument accuracy and measure atmospheric electricity.
The property transitioned into office space during the 1980s before being converted into a private home in the 21st century. Situated in the middle of a golf course, the site represents a significant piece of London's scientific history.
