Magistrate extends remand for suspect in Rs35 billion fraud case

Magistrate Naeem Wattoo extended the physical remand of a suspect involved in an alleged Rs35 billion fraud case. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) presented Faheem Akram before the court, where the magistrate also granted initial remand to a second suspect.
Both individuals will remain in custody until 30 October 2026. According to the NCCIA, Akram managed the website LabelsBank.com starting 1 August 2023.
The agency stated that the platform sold more than 5,000,000 fraudulent labels. US Department of Justice records show a federal grand jury in Florida indicted Akram on 1 September 2026.
Prosecutors in the United States claimed the sale of over 5,100,000 counterfeit postage labels resulted in losses to the US Postal Service exceeding $126 million. The website offered these labels to customers for approximately $2 each.
A court order from the United States authorized the seizure and shutdown of the website.
