Baseus has launched the Sleep SK1 in China, a compact Bluetooth speaker intended to be placed under a pillow. The device allows users to listen to podcasts, music, or other audio without the need for earbuds or the risk of disturbing others.

The speaker utilizes a micro-vibration transmission system featuring two symmetrical vibration drivers. According to Baseus, these drivers send sound waves directly through the pillow to reduce sound leakage into the environment. Baseus states the technology works best with pillows less than 8cm thick, though it notes that users can increase the volume when using thicker pillows.

The Sleep SK1 is designed with an ultra-thin profile, measuring 16.5cm long and only 14mm thick. Weighing 44 grams, the device features a matte finish and a fire-resistant casing. Its flat design is intended to prevent a noticeable bump when a user is sleeping on their side. The unit also includes a small digital display that shows the current operating mode, the 24-hour time, and the remaining battery level.

The device supports Bluetooth 6.0 for streaming from smartphones and includes an offline mode for listening without a phone connection. Through a companion app, users can access more than 100 white noise tracks, such as ASMR audio, campfire sounds, and rainfall. The app also provides sleep timers between 30 and 120 minutes and allows for up to 10 customizable alarms. Baseus claims the speaker’s directional audio technology can assist in waking users without disturbing those sleeping nearby.

The Sleep SK1 is equipped with a 300mAh battery that provides more than 10 hours of continuous playback. It charges via USB-C and requires approximately two hours for a full recharge. The speaker is currently listed in China for $28, but Baseus has not provided details regarding international pricing or availability.
