The success of this experiment opens up possibilities for smaller hospitals and clinics that lack the resources to install expensive surgical robots. The technology could be adapted for human patients, potentially reducing costs and increasing accessibility to advanced surgical techniques. Dr Liu's team is optimistic about the future of this technology. 'If this approach eventually proves clinically ready for human patients, surgeons could use such humanoid robots to remotely perform robotic-assisted surgical care,' he stated. The experiment highlights the potential benefits of combining human expertise with advanced robotics in medical procedures.
