Federal Minister Recognizes Saudi Arabia’s Secretary-General for Women Empowerment

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar presented a certificate of recognition to Dr. Maimoonah Al Khalil, Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during the closing ceremony of the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women.

The conference, held under the theme ‘Socio-Economic and Political Empowerment of Women in the OIC Countries: Challenges and Way Forward,’ was hosted by the Government of Pakistan under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Rights at the Convention Centre.

Following the conclusion of the event, Federal Minister Tarar and Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), addressed a joint press conference. The press conference highlighted the significant contributions made by participants in advancing women’s rights within the OIC member states.

Dr. Maimoonah Al Khalil was recognized for her outstanding contribution to women’s welfare and empowerment. Her work has been instrumental in promoting gender equality and ensuring that women have equal opportunities in various sectors of society.

The 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women brought together key stakeholders from across the region to discuss strategies and initiatives aimed at empowering women socio-economically and politically. The conference underscored the importance of collaboration among member states to address common challenges faced by women in different parts of the world.

During the press conference, Federal Minister Tarar emphasized the need for continued efforts to enhance women’s participation in decision-making processes and ensure their access to education, employment, and healthcare. He highlighted that such initiatives are crucial for achieving sustainable development goals within OIC countries.

Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the OIC, commended Pakistan for hosting the conference and praised the efforts made by the government in promoting women’s rights. He expressed hope that the outcomes of the conference would contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.
