City Traffic Police Murree has announced a detailed traffic management strategy for the upcoming 25th Muharram procession, scheduled in the Tret Syedan area. The plan was unveiled by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Munir Ahmed Hashmi following directives from higher authorities.

According to CTO Hashmi, the primary objective of the traffic management plan is to ensure smooth movement and safety for all participants and spectators during the procession. 'Our aim is to minimize congestion and prevent any untoward incidents,' he stated.

The plan includes specific measures such as designated parking areas, alternate routes for vehicles, and increased police presence at key intersections. Additionally, temporary traffic signals will be installed in critical locations to manage footfall and vehicular movement effectively.

CTO Hashmi emphasized the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders, including local residents, procession organizers, and law enforcement agencies. 'We urge everyone to adhere to our instructions for a successful event,' he added.

The CTO also highlighted that the plan has been designed with input from various departments, ensuring a coordinated approach to traffic management. 'Our goal is to provide a seamless experience for all involved in this significant religious observance,' Hashmi said.

Local residents and procession organizers have expressed support for the measures outlined by the police. 'We appreciate the efforts being made to ensure our safety during such an important event,' said Syed Ali, a local resident who participates in the procession annually.

The 25th Muharram procession is expected to attract thousands of participants and spectators, making effective traffic management crucial for the smooth conduct of the event. The police have assured that all necessary preparations are being made to handle any potential challenges.
