Pakistan's Under-19 cricket team secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Asia Cup on Sunday after a three-wicket victory over India. The team achieved the target with 11 balls to spare at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.
Hamza Zahoor led the winning effort, scoring an unbeaten 100 not out off 108 deliveries. Zahoor struck ten boundaries and three sixes to anchor the chase of 209. The Pakistan side faced an uncomfortable start to their innings, losing wickets at regular intervals and slipping to 61-5.
Hasnain Abbas Dar assisted Zahoor by scoring 38 off 67 balls. The two shared a crucial sixth-wicket partnership that revived the innings.
India was asked to bat first and was bowled out for 208 in 46.3 overs. Arjun Rajput led the Indian batting with 107 off 85 balls, which included 11 fours and five sixes. Despite Rajput's performance, Pakistan's bowlers prevented India from reaching a higher total.
Pakistan's bowling attack saw Ali Raza, Rizwanullah, and Niqab Shafiq each claim three wickets. Rizwanullah conceded 24 runs in seven overs, while Ali Raza finished with figures of 3-37 from ten overs. For India, Manal Chauhan took 3-32, and Mohit Ulva took 2-45.
This victory marks Pakistan's second successive win in Group A, confirming their qualification for the last four. The team is scheduled to face Nepal in the remaining group stage match.
