The band Rush has announced a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas for May 2027. The engagement, produced by Live Nation, will consist of five dates on May 21, 23, 26, 28, and 30 under the banner of “Elevate From the Norm.”

Singer-bassist Geddy Lee stated in an announcement that when he first heard of the Sphere, he thought it was a shame the band was no longer touring because the venue sounded "tailor made for the kind of visual attitude with which we have always designed our shows." Lee noted that the group usually spends months designing visual effects and that this scenario seemed like "the cherry on top of the ice cream for our design team." He added that the band is currently working to "concoct some new madness" to suit the venue, which will include musically performing "all of ‘2112’ and all of ‘Moving Pictures’ along with an array of other songs." Lee expressed that the band is "so effin’ excited" to use the opportunity to please fans "both visually and viscerally."

Tickets for the residency go on sale on Nov. 13, with an "artist presale" scheduled for Nov. 11. Subscribers to Rush Backstage and the Rush Newsletter will receive a bonus two-hour window to purchase VIP and Travel packages starting this Friday at 10 a.m. PT. The artist presale will also begin next Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT, with fans registering through Seated to receive a presale code.

The Las Vegas dates will follow the wrap-up of the band's international dates in April. The group is currently in the middle of a North American tour running through Dec. 17. On Jan. 15, they begin an international leg starting in Buenos Aires, which is currently scheduled to conclude on April 10 in Helsinki.

While the announcement lists five dates, it is typical for Sphere residencies to add shows indefinitely as the initial dates sell out. This would make the five shows a mini-residency by Sphere standards.

The group was believed to be finished after the death of original drummer Neal Peart in 2020. However, members Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson surprised fans by announcing a 2026 tour with former Jeff Beck drummer Anika Nilles. Despite initial fan skepticism, the 2026 shows and Nilles' role have been nearly unanimously well-received by the Rush faithful.
