Netflix ends David Fincher deal; Levy and Duffer Brothers move to Disney and Paramount

Netflix's production agreement with David Fincher has concluded. Previously, David Fincher began his arrangement with Netflix in 2020.
Shawn Levy has signed a new overall production deal with Disney. Matt and Ross Duffer announced they are departing Netflix for a four-year television and film production deal with Paramount starting in August 2025.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix co-CEO, stated that the departures of Levy and the Duffer Brothers stemmed from the filmmakers' wish to dedicate more time to feature-length projects. Guillermo del Toro's production deal with Netflix remains active.
Netflix's primary strategy involves increasing its focus on creating lower-budget series, live events, and sports programming.
