Jodie Sweetin, known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the sitcom Full House, revealed she faced significant financial hardship before filming the 2016 reboot, Fuller House. During a recent episode of the We’re Still Here, Babe podcast, Sweetin disclosed that she had to borrow money during her first week on the production.

Sweetin stated that she skittered into her first paycheck with approximately $190 in her bank account, noting that none of her coworkers were aware of her situation.

The actress attributed her financial difficulties to her struggles with addiction, which she said left her with no money at one point. This led her to seek employment outside of the Hollywood industry. Sweetin said she did not have an ego regarding these choices, telling listeners, I didn’t care that I was, quote, unquote, working a normal job. I think other people again were like, ‘What are you doing here?’ And I was like, ‘Paying my bills. Kids don’t pay for themselves.’

Sweetin described the humility she gained while working at Target, explaining that she had to turn around and put items back because she did not have the money on her debit card. She noted that she was never a materialistic person.

The original Full House series ran for eight seasons between 1987 and 1995. The Netflix reboot, Fuller House, ran for five seasons and totaled nearly 80 episodes. The reboot featured original cast members Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, Scott Weinger, Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos, while Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were notably absent. The reboot also starred Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Hagenbuch, John Brotherton, Michael Campion, Elias Harger, and Soni Bringas.
