Actor Talha Chahour revealed that his latest drama, Rutba, is based on a true story, noting that the project's characters and narrative were inspired by actual people and circumstances. In an interview with Something Haute, Chahour stated that his interest in the project grew after reading the script and learning about the real lives that informed the story.

While the drama is rooted in reality, Chahour noted that he prefers to discuss the character rather than the real individuals involved. He conducted his own research to understand the role, uncovering various accounts regarding the background of the person who inspired the character.

Chahour plays ASP Hadi, an educated young man who enters the police force with a sense of purpose but eventually faces the darker realities of the system. Chahour described the character's journey as an exploration of what happens when a person raised with strong values enters an environment where power, politics, moral corruption, and money challenge their beliefs. He stated, “ASP Hadi was not just an ASP; it was about a young, educated man and officer who comes into the system and how the system breaks him apart.”

The actor observed that people from hardworking backgrounds often struggle when moved into unfamiliar environments. He explained that the drama's title, Rutba, which refers to dignity, honour, or status, reflects the difference between attaining authority and taking responsibility for it. Chahour remarked that while it is easy to control a position, taking responsibility is the true challenge, noting that people can become consumed by privileges without recognizing the difference they could make.

Chahour described Hadi as a challenging character who represents the ultimate test of human integrity. He noted that the character is not an uncomplicated hero, as his journey involves trauma, worries, and the sacrifices made by his family. Chahour explained that the drama shows a "real human being who stumbles," highlighting Hadi's vulnerabilities and mistakes. Regarding Hadi's relationship with Mahnoor, Chahour stated he cannot justify the character's actions, calling them wrong.

The production involved a collaboration with Hiba Bukhari, who plays Mahnoor. Chahour credited the production's leadership and environment for creating a bond between the cast and convincing on-screen chemistry. He also mentioned that the music, including the song Alfaaz, was well-received by viewers.

Regarding the industry, Chahour expressed support for constructive criticism as a learning process, though he advised actors not to take reviews to heart but to their head.

For his role as Hadi, Chahour underwent a physical transformation, gaining eight kilograms to reach a weight of 73 kilograms from his previous weight of 65 kilograms in Jama Taqseem. He also grew a real moustache for the role. Chahour emphasized that he prioritizes looking real over looking good, stating that an actor's appearance should reflect the requirements of a role.
