Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the Care1166 Health Complaint Management System on Wednesday at the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI). The new digital platform is designed to centralize the registration of public grievances to improve accountability within the health sector.

Residents of Islamabad can now lodge complaints regarding the Ministry of National Health Services and its attached departments and institutions using the single helpline, 1166. The ministry stated that this initiative aims to eliminate the need for citizens to visit multiple government offices, making it easier for people—especially those in remote areas—to have their health-related concerns formally recorded for action by phone.

According to the ministry, complaints submitted through the system will be automatically referred to the designated officer or relevant department. A central dashboard will record each complaint, identify the officer responsible, and document the steps taken to address the issue. The health minister will be able to access this dashboard from his office to review complaints and monitor how departments are responding to the public.

The ministry said the system is intended to ensure proper follow-up and that the data collected could help identify disease trends and recurring healthcare problems by analyzing public complaints. During its initial phase, the system will cover complaints concerning government hospitals and dispensaries in Islamabad.

Designated officers at these facilities will be responsible for ensuring grievances are addressed promptly. The ministry stated that the initiative is expected to be particularly beneficial for marginalized communities, low-income households, and women by providing a more accessible way to contact authorities. The ministry expects the platform to promote transparency and help the government assess the quality of public healthcare services through systematic monitoring.
