The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, working alongside Clarivate, is organizing a webinar for Pakistani journal editors titled “Inside Web of Science: How Journals Are Selected for the Core Collection.”
The session is scheduled for November 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. It will be hosted by the Clarivate Webinar Host and is exclusively for editors of Pakistani journals and relevant editorial personnel.
According to the HEC, the Web of Science Editorial Team will provide an inside view of the journal evaluation process and selection criteria. The HEC describes this as a robust process that makes the Web of Science Core Collection the world’s most trusted publisher-independent global citation database.
The HEC stated that the session will focus on general criteria and processes and will not address the status, outcome, or eligibility of specific journals. Participants will learn how to navigate the journal evaluation process and understand what is required for inclusion in the Core Collection.
Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen the quality, transparency and international visibility of Pakistani research journals and help editors align their journals with global standards.
