Khyber Pakhtunkhwa orders high-quality polio vaccination campaigns across province

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fakhr-e-Alam Irfan ordered officials to conduct verifiable, high-quality polio vaccination drives throughout the province. The eradication of polio stands as a primary national priority for the country.
At the Civil Secretariat, Irfan led a meeting of the Provincial Polio Task Force to coordinate efforts. Pakistan is currently one of only two nations globally where the polio virus continues to present a public health challenge.
"We are at the final stage, and the final stage is always the most difficult," Fakhr-e-Irfan said. Every district in the province remains at risk until the virus is entirely removed from the area.
Positive environmental samples have been identified in certain locations. A province-wide vaccination campaign is set to take place in November.
Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Coordinator Sarah Rehman told participants that preparations for the drive are finished.
