Army not interested in negotiating with political parties: DGISPR

Army not interested in negotiating with political parties: DGISPR.
DGISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that we have always been clear that it is the job of politicians to talk to each other and therefore the army is not interested in talking to political parties.
While talking to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the DGISPR said, “We talk to the state which is formed under the Constitution of Pakistan by political parties together. If there is a government, it is the state of the time, and the Pakistan Army does its work under that state.
“We are always clear that it is the job of politicians to talk to each other. The army is not interested in talking to political parties,” he said. Please do not involve the armed forces of Pakistan in politics. If political instability and military leadership come up, the question should be asked of politicians or political forces who seek to make the military controversial.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said that many rumors and assumptions are spread against the army for political purposes. There was also a rumor that the army was not doing its job and was involved in politics. When the battle of truth came, did the army fulfill its duty or not? The nation felt lacking in any aspect of the military? Not at all.
He added that an army that is said to be divided and cut off from the people can do all this. Not at all. We not only have rock-solid solidarity internally but are also united as a nation.
The Pakistan Army spokesman said that perhaps it is their own incompetence or weaknesses that they do not want to draw attention to, assumptions made on political grounds without any evidence should be avoided.
