Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra has assured travel agents of full support in resolving their genuine concerns, particularly those related to Punjab Sales Tax on Services. During a meeting with the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan delegation, various issues faced by travel agents and tour operators were discussed.
The delegation raised concerns about tax registration, return filing, and other taxation-related complications. Sipra acknowledged these challenges and emphasized the importance of effective engagement between the business community and tax authorities to make the tax system more effective and taxpayer-friendly.
Sipra assured that the PRA would extend all possible cooperation to address genuine concerns of the business community. He highlighted plans for digital and online systems, as well as awareness sessions aimed at facilitating taxpayers and improving their understanding of tax compliance requirements.
The participants stressed the need for greater awareness about tax compliance, transparent business practices, and accurate payment of taxes. Sipra reiterated that facilitating and guiding service providers, including travel agents, remains one of the authority’s key priorities.
In addition to these assurances, the delegation presented proposals aimed at simplifying the tax system and making compliance easier for businesses. It was agreed to constitute a joint committee comprising representatives from both the PRA and the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan to ensure continued coordination and awareness on taxation matters.
