Phil Campbell dies from multi-organ failure; Motörhead guitarist passes away

Phil Campbell died on 13 March at the age of 64 from multi-organ failure. The coroner, Dr Richard Brittain, recorded the cause of death as multi-organ failure.
Campbell, who played guitar for the band from 1984 until its disbandment in 2015, was the second longest serving member of Motörhead after Lemmy. Earlier this year, Campbell underwent bowel surgery and two liver transplants at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
The guitarist had been sober for seven years at the time of his passing. He had previously been treated for Hepatitis C.
Dr Richard Brittain stated, "My view is that there is nothing here to suggest his death could have been prevented." The band Motörhead, which pioneered heavy metal music in Britain, was founded by Lemmy in 1975.
