Developers discovered references to a cybersecurity model named Cyber within the front-end code of the official DeepSeek website on 30 October, according to IT Home.

DeepSeek has not officially announced the existence of this model. The code contains an application page located at the /usage/model-application route, which is currently managed by a feature gate. Users without the necessary permissions who attempt to access this page are redirected back to the standard usage page.

Technical interfaces within the code allow for the management of quotas and the creation of a Cyber Key. Two distinct application templates are included in the code, separated for enterprise users and individuals. The code lists two specific model identifiers: cyber-personal-v3 and cyber-enterprise-v4.

Individual security professionals applying for the personal track must provide national ID details and undergo a face verification check. Applicants for the enterprise track are required to submit a business license, a letter of authorization, and real-name materials.

To qualify, an account must be in good standing, have completed real-name verification, and be registered in mainland China with a linked mainland phone number. The system requires that the account has no violation records from the previous 90 days.

The process involves filling out an application form for review, followed by the creation of a Cyber Key once approval is granted. This entry point is not visible in the public menus of the DeepSeek website.

Some users reported that accounts included in the test can see a new section on the usage page showing a DeepSeek Flash Cyber cybersecurity API area if they have permission.
