Horizon Robotics' chips and its HSD driver-assistance system have joined BYD's higher-tier God's Eye B package, according to Lanjing Auto.

The arrangement is scheduled for implementation by 30 October 2026, with some reports suggesting a 2026 November timeline. Neither company has officially confirmed the partnership, and Lanjing Auto reports that the specific volume, model plans, and the split between Horizon and BYD's internal solutions remain undecided. BYD launched its God's Eye driver-assistance lineup in three tiers starting in February 2025.

The Version A, known as DiPilot 600, serves the Yangwang brand, while Version B, or DiPilot 300, is primarily used in Denza and BYD-brand cars. Version C, DiPilot 100, covers mainstream BYD models.

Horizon Robotics first entered the Version C tier with its Journey 6M chip, which is rated at 128 TOPS, while BYD developed the software for that tier itself. Lanjing Auto claims Horizon would supply both a high-compute chip and HSD software for the new arrangement.

Cars in the God's Eye B package currently typically use a single NVIDIA Orin-X chip rated at 254 TOPS. Lanjing Auto says that supply, alongside BYD's own chips, is said to remain in place. Earlier reports from Lanjing Auto identified Denza, Han, and Ocean-series models as potential candidates for this integration.

HSD is a one-stage end-to-end urban driver-assistance system from Horizon Robotics built on the Journey 6P chip, which the company rates at 560 TOPS. The HSD system has been designated for more than 20 models across 10 different automaker brands in China and international markets.

Yu Kai stated that NVIDIA's automotive chips quote twice their dense compute, meaning the Orin-X's 127 dense TOPS becomes 254. Yu Kai noted that most chipmakers followed this same convention. Some manufacturers now advertise six or seven times the dense compute under the label of equivalent compute, Yu Kai said.

Horizon Robotics will list two figures from now on, according to Yu Kai. One figure, which Yu Kai called NV compute, is dense compute multiplied by two. The other is equivalent compute, which Yu Kai jokingly referred to as bragging compute.

Yu Kai stated that the Journey 6P is 560 TOPS NV compute and 1,960 TOPS equivalent compute. Dense compute refers to peak performance without exploiting sparsity. Sparse figures double the headline number by skipping zero-value calculations.
