Casio has announced a new addition to its Casiotone line of portable electronic keyboards, with the Casiotone CT-FS1 available now.
The keyboard is available in monochromatic black or white versions for $399.99. It features 61 touch-responsive keys that are all the same colour and weighs just under 10 pounds. The device includes built-in stereo speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, and a physical headphone jack.
The keyboard can be powered by a power adapter or AA batteries. Casio said the keyboard features what it calls its Feel Sync technology. A new Feel Sync mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices, allowing users to import a song file for analysis by an algorithm.
The keyboard will only produce notes that match the song’s harmony, regardless of which keys are pressed. The CT-FS1 can be played like a standard keyboard without Feel Sync assistance.
Users can also split the keyboard into two zones, where one side works like a traditional keyboard for an experienced musician while the other benefits from real time Feel Sync corrections.
