UMC has announced plans to increase its capital expenditure to US$2 billion in 2026, up from the previous estimate of US$1.5 billion, as it expands operations in Singapore and establishes a new facility in STSP. The company aims to generate AI-related revenue of about US$300 million by 2026, with targets set to reach US$1 billion within three years.
