Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mr Beigi emphasized that despite existing trade volumes, there is immense potential for economic cooperation.
In an effort to unlock new opportunities, Beigi led a high-level Iranian business delegation during a meeting with KCCI officials. He highlighted Iran’s industrial capabilities in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, food processing, petrochemicals, mining, engineering, automotive components, household appliances, plastics, aluminium, railway equipment, renewable energy and heavy industries.
Mr Beigi invited Pakistani entrepreneurs to explore these sectors through joint ventures and reciprocal investment. He also extended an invitation for KCCI to lead a business delegation to Iran’s Central Province, specifically the Markazi province, which he described as having a strong manufacturing base in various key industries.
Muhammad Raza, Senior Vice President of KCCI, reaffirmed the Chamber's commitment to strengthening economic relations between Pakistan and Iran. He noted that Karachi, being Pakistan’s commercial and industrial powerhouse, offers immense opportunities for foreign investors and international businesses. Mr Raza stressed the need to simplify trade procedures, improve banking and payment mechanisms, strengthen logistics and transportation networks, and resolve practical impediments affecting bilateral commerce.
During the interactive session, representatives from diverse sectors in Iran, including mining, automotive components, home appliances, engineering, plastics, aluminium, railway equipment, food processing, and renewable energy, presented their industrial capabilities. They expressed strong interest in establishing long-term commercial partnerships with Pakistani manufacturers, exporters, and investors.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by President KCCI Rehan Hanif and President Naser Beigi of Arak Chamber. The MoU aims to institutionalize cooperation between the two Chambers by facilitating the exchange of trade delegations, organizing B2B meetings, sharing commercial intelligence, and encouraging joint ventures.
Both leaders expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Iran business relations, citing the longstanding friendship between the two countries as a strong foundation for meaningful economic cooperation. They highlighted that despite regional challenges, there are significant opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade through practical measures and collaborative efforts.
