Amelia Dimoldenberg is bringing her popular interview series, Chicken Shop Date, to the big screen. The final series of the show will begin screening in theaters on 24 November 2026.

Invite-only premieres are scheduled for London on 16 November 2026 and New York City on 17 November 2026. Dimoldenberg will also take part in question and answer sessions during the screenings.

Several venues across the United Kingdom and Europe have confirmed the screenings, including Curzon Soho in London and mk2 Bibliothèque in Paris. The Duke of York’s Picturehouse in Brighton will also host the series.

Professor Dr Husnul Amin delivered a keynote address titled “Reclaiming the Soul of the University” at the 5th International Conference on Higher Education on 27 October. Alhamd University and the Institute of Regional Studies jointly organised the international gathering.

Amin stated that the primary role of universities involves creating new knowledge, seeking truth, and providing service to society. The professor argued that higher education institutions must find an equilibrium between the demands of the market and the requirements of the community.

He claimed that the neoliberal university model has caused institutions to drift from their fundamental purpose of pursuing truth and serving the public. Amin advocated for a balanced approach where universities meet employment requirements while preserving their core objectives of fulfilling social responsibilities.

Chairman Sohail Ashraf directed officials to upgrade existing facilities at Faisal Mosque during a site visit to review ongoing renovation and beautification work. Ashraf ordered relevant formations to perform necessary repairs and improve the maintenance of current infrastructure.

The Chairman emphasised the need for better sanitation, public conveniences, and cleanliness throughout the site. Specific instructions were given to maintain pathways and surrounding areas while ensuring adequate canteen facilities for visitors.

Improved landscaping and greenery were also requested to enhance the upkeep of the mosque’s surroundings. Coordination among the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), ESCP, and CDA formations was stressed to ensure progress.

Officials were instructed to monitor the progress of these works on a regular basis. Member Building, the chief executive officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and the director generals of Services and Engineering and Maintenance (E&M) attended the review.

The Embassy of Russia hosted the launch of a textbook titled ‘Pashto Advance Applied Grammar’ in Islamabad on 27 October. Ambassador Albert P. Khorev attended the ceremony alongside the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan, Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb.

Hafeez Ur Rehman Dauran, a professor at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), authored the new publication. The Russian Embassy in Pakistan supported the publication to address a lack of modern materials for teaching Pashto grammar.

Copies of the book will be distributed to Russian universities where Pashto is taught to encourage student interest in the language.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry visited the Islamabad Model Jail to review the finished project. The facility was completed after a construction period spanning 17 years.

Naqvi toured the jail's hospital, kitchen, dining hall, barracks, and waiting area during the visit. The minister also consumed a meal that had been prepared for the inmates.

Naqvi stated that the Prime Minister of Pakistan would inaugurate the Islamabad Model Jail soon. Work on the project began in 2024 following specific instructions from the Interior Minister.

The CDA Chairman, Islamabad Inspector General of Police, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner, and other officials attended the inspection.

The Islamabad High Court issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau and other respondents regarding an intra-court appeal challenging the extension of the maximum physical remand period for accused persons from 14 to 40 days. A division bench led by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Muhammad Asif heard the appeal, which also prompted a notice to the Attorney General for Pakistan.

Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique represented the appellant, Najeebullah, during the proceedings. The court previously disposed of a related petition as infructuous because Parliament failed to ratify the relevant ordinance.

Siddique argued that the National Accountability Bureau ordinance was introduced specifically for the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The lawyer further contended that the expiration of the ordinance does not settle the legal validity of actions taken while its provisions were in effect.

Proceedings are scheduled to resume in the third week of November.

Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stated that the effects of conflict are currently impacting regional economies, trade, and public life. Sheikh noted that Pakistan's economy is currently confronting multiple challenges.

Trade disruptions with India and Afghanistan have already occurred. Restoring trade routes with regional countries, including Iran, is a priority for Pakistan, according to Sheikh.

The protection of holy sites such as Madinah Munawwarah and Makkah Mukarramah is a shared responsibility of the entire Muslim Ummah, Sheikh said. Repeat tests are being conducted to verify hepatitis cases in Chiniot.

Sheikh suggested that the spread of diseases could be linked to inadequate access to clean drinking water. During a medical camp in the Khokhran Wala area of Chiniot, Sheikh spoke to the media.

OpenAI announced breakthroughs in mathematics, computer science, and physics on Monday. The company is collaborating with expert shepherds to determine the appropriate method for sharing its latest discoveries.

Mathematics results from the company include AI-generated output and a claim to resolve the Kakeya conjecture in all dimensions. Brendan Hassett stated that the claim by OpenAI looks well supported.

The final mathematics result also claims to disprove the exponential time hypothesis. To explain the computer science finding, OpenAI will form an external group of researchers.

Andreas Karch said the fact that they handpick the group is a disaster. OpenAI has not released the physics result yet.

The Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence urged OpenAI to “make public without delay the natural-language and Lean outputs behind its announced” results in physics.

Pakistan Railways approved 829 vacancies under the Balochistan quota to bolster its workforce. The available positions range from Grade 1 to Grade 16.

Of these openings, 805 are designated for the Quetta Division, while 24 are for the department's headquarters. Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi instructed officials to maintain transparency and merit throughout the hiring process.

The recruitment plan includes a 10% quota for women and provides specific exemptions from screening and written tests. Muhammad Hanif Abbasi stated that the hiring process under the Balochistan quota would be completed before 30 November 2026.

Applications are being invited through the National Jobs Portal with a deadline of 11 November 2026. Candidates must provide a national identity card, domicile certificate, character certificate, educational certificates, and passport-size photographs.

A Tehran court sentenced Jafar Panahi to five years and one month in jail in a verdict delivered in absentia. Authorities in Tehran also froze the bank accounts of the filmmaker.

Panahi returned to Iran on 30 March 2026. The director previously faced a one-year prison sentence before this new ruling was handed down.

In 2022, the filmmaker was detained during protests involving a group of other directors. He spent approximately seven months in custody before his release from that arrest.

Hackers are exploiting security flaws in PHP that allow attackers to run malicious commands without a password. Security researchers identified these vulnerabilities as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619.

Adel Karimi discovered the attacks while monitoring honeypots. Attackers ran commands on test servers using Apache and PHP version 8.4.26.

Researchers recorded 35 successful command executions on 24 October originating from two IP addresses. Hackers accessed approximately 800KB of memory data during the breach.

Marcus Hutchins from Expel confirmed evidence of successful exploitation linked to CVE-2026-109618. Evidence does not separately establish successful exploitation of CVE-2026-109619.
