The 56th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam will run from 28 January to 7 February 2026. Organisers will launch the complete program for the event on 16 December 2026.
Ten titles are scheduled to screen as part of the festival’s Harbour and Bright Future sections. The lineup includes world premieres such as Lucila Las Heras's "The Muglur" and Mohamed El Zayat's "In the Name of Galeela".
Other featured premieres comprise "Kids Go Free" by Ben Hicks, "Portrait of a Young Criminal" by Parbat Chapagai, and "Karl Marx, Luanda" by Kiluanji Kia Henda. Additional works include "Ali and Ben’s Spicy Meats" by Feisal Azizuddin and Iskander Azizuddin, "Waiting Room" by Omer Shamir, "The Lapse" by Rita Hui Nga Shu, "Tehran the Obscure Atelier of Desire" by Ali Bakhtiari, and "Yiannis" by Kyros Papavassiliou.
The festival noted that four debut filmmakers will present markedly different approaches to storytelling. The festival described one entry as an uncompromising, impactful and radically human film-essay.
