Lionsgate will release The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping in cinemas on 20 November. Frances Lawrence directs the movie, which is based on the 2025 novel Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins.

The story takes place 24 years before the first Hunger Games film, which was directed by Gary Ross. Joseph Zada portrays a young Haymitch, a role previously held by Woody Harrelson.

The narrative focuses on the 50th Hunger Games. Jesse Plemons appears as Plutarch, while Ralph Fiennes portrays President Snow.

Kieran Culkin plays Caesar Flickerman, and Maya Hawke appears as Wiress. Kelvin Harrison Jr. takes on the role of Beetee, and Mckenna Grace also appears in the franchise.

Gavin Spoors described the film as "stellar" and noted that it "pulls the rug out underneath you." Spoors added that the emotional thriller "nails the themes of the cost of revolution and how we all need to play our part" while being anchored by terrific performances.
