The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has started installing advanced emergency QR panic buttons in government hospitals throughout Punjab, including in Lahore.
These panic buttons will be deployed across the province's government medical facilities in several phases. By scanning a QR code, members of the public can establish a direct connection with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
Mobile phones will automatically display the specific hospital's information, allowing users to register their phone numbers and request help through video calls, live chat, or by calling Emergency Helpline 15. The project is linked with the Safe City Virtual Blood Bank to facilitate medical needs.
Staff from the Safe City team will assist patients by matching them with available donors who possess the necessary blood group. Individuals can also dial Emergency Helpline 15 and select option 4 to obtain basic first aid instructions and information on blood requirements.
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority said the installation of these QR Emergency Panic Buttons represents a significant milestone in using modern technology to enhance public services and bolster emergency response systems.
