Farmers using Sarsabz Nitrophos and Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) secured the top three provincial positions and 119 out of 120 district-level spots in the Punjab Wheat Yield Competition 2025–26, the Government of Punjab announced.

Fatima Fertilizer hosted the Sarsabz Ki Jeet Wheat Yield Competition Prize Distribution Ceremony to honour the achievements of these farmers. Sarsabz users also took first place in 39 out of 40 districts. Mr Shafiq Ahmed from Attock followed in second place with a yield of 69 maunds and 39.1 kilograms per acre.

The provincial winners received three tractors as awards. District-level winners were presented with Honda CD 70 motorcycles and LED TVs. Rana Tanveer Hussain congratulated Fatima Fertilizer and the farmers for securing the provincial titles and nearly all district positions, calling the achievement a source of pride for Pakistan.

Hussain stated that increasing wheat production and improving crop yields are essential for strengthening Pakistan’s food security. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo said that farmers are the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and food security. Since October 15, Rs 150 billion in interest-free loans have been extended to one million farmers through the Kissan Card, Sahoo said.

Rabel Sadozai noted that Sarsabz users also claimed all three provincial positions and 97 of 120 district positions last year. While the indicative national average stood at around 33 maunds per acre, successful Sarsabz farmers recorded yields of approximately 69-70 maunds per acre, thus doubling their yield, Sadozai said.
