The Islamabad High Court on Monday scheduled a hearing for November 5 regarding a petition seeking permission for members of the National Dialogue Committee to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
Justice Umair Majid Malik will preside over the hearing on Thursday to consider the petition and objections raised by the Registrar’s Office. The legal filing names the Secretary of Interior, the Secretary of Home Department Punjab, and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail as the respondents.
The petitioners stated that, as friends of the PTI founder, they are deeply concerned about his health and well-being. The petitioners further voiced concern over the reported deteriorating health of Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. According to the petition, family members, friends, and close relatives of the PTI founder have been barred from meeting him for several months.
The petitioners claimed they approached the court to promote national reconciliation, constitutional supremacy, and political stability. The petition also invokes the Pakistan Prison Rules, 1978.
