Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi supervised the demolition of the Khanna Police Station on 30 October.

The police station had been constructed on the green belt situated along the Islamabad Expressway. The Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police took part in the demolition operation. Other concerned officials, including the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, were present at the site during the proceedings.

Naqvi said the Khanna Police Station had been moved to an alternative location on a temporary basis. The minister stated that a new site had been legally assigned for the police station, where a new building would be constructed. Naqvi asserted that no individual, private organisation, or government entity would be permitted to occupy government land.

The minister added that land occupied by departments under the Ministry of Interior was also being retrieved as part of the current operation. He noted that the FC camp office near the Marriott Hotel had been demolished previously to remove unauthorised structures from state land.

Naqvi said the government would continue indiscriminate action against illegal occupation and encroachments to retrieve occupied state land. The minister stated that the government would not distinguish between private organisations, individuals, or government departments involved in occupying state land.

The demolition of the Khanna Police Station is part of a broader campaign to clear encroachments and remove structures built on government land across Islamabad. Naqvi said the objective was to eliminate encroachments from Islamabad completely to make the federal capital a city with green spaces.
