Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the launch of Pakistan’s largest citizen facilitation center in Karachi. This facility will provide a one-stop service for various Ministry of Interior services, including passports, identity cards, and no-objection certificates.
The Grand Khidmat Markaz, as it is being called, will feature counters for all institutions under the Ministry of Interior, ensuring citizens can access multiple services without visiting multiple offices.
Naqvi directed officials to prepare a master plan for the facility, emphasizing the importance of considering all necessary requirements. The plan is to be submitted within 10 days, and the necessary arrangements for its establishment will be made.
In addition to the citizen facilitation center, the minister also inspected a new fleet of rescue vehicles procured from China for the Islamabad Rescue and Fire Brigade. These vehicles are expected to significantly enhance the rescue and firefighting capabilities of the city.
The new fleet includes four fire aerial trucks, six fire towers, and five fire tanks, all equipped with modern firefighting and rescue equipment. These vehicles can operate at heights of up to 256 feet and will be deployed around the clock at six stations across Islamabad.
The minister highlighted that this is the biggest addition to the Islamabad Rescue service since 2009. The vehicles are expected to reach Islamabad from Karachi within five days, marking a significant upgrade in emergency response capabilities.
