The Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) has announced that metro bus services in Lahore and Rawalpindi will be temporarily suspended on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The decision comes due to security arrangements for significant religious observances.

In Lahore, the entire Metrobus Service will remain closed throughout the day as part of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (Data Ganj Bakhsh).

Similarly, the Rawalpindi section of the Pakistan Metrobus System, operating between Saddar and Faizabad, will also be suspended for the same reason. However, the Islamabad section, running between IJP Road and Pak Secretariat, will continue to operate as usual.
