My statement on Aafia Siddiqui’s case is being taken out of context: Ishaq Dar
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that my statement on the case of Dr Aafia Siddiqui is being taken out of context, even though the government is and will continue to provide all kinds of diplomatic and judicial assistance.
In a statement on social networking site X, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that in response to a question about Imran Khan’s case at the Atlantic Council think tank in Washington yesterday, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s case is being presented out of context.
He said that during the PML-N governments, full diplomatic and judicial support has always been provided for the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and will continue to be provided in the future, until the issue of release is resolved.
Ishaq Dar said that every country has its own judicial and legal practices that are respected, whether it is Pakistan or the United States.
“Our government’s stand on the issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s release is unequivocal and absolutely clear,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
