Australia defeated West Indies by 159 runs in the first Test to take the series lead.
Chasing 301 runs on the third day of the match, West Indies were bowled out for just 141 in the second innings. Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets for 43 runs.
Earlier Australia scored 310 runs in the second innings, with Travis Head hitting 61, Bev Webster 63 and Alex Carey 65.
Shamar Joseph picked up five wickets for the West Indies and took a total of nine catches in the match, but the team’s poor fielding ruined his efforts.
Shai Hope, Justin Graves and Shimar Joseph put up some resistance in the West Indies side, but the team could not get close to the target. Spinner Nathan Line took the last 2 wickets for Australia.
Australia were bowled out for 180 in the first innings, while the West Indies had scored 190 runs in their first innings. The second Test of the three-match series between the two teams will be played on July 3 in St. George, with the third Test scheduled from July 12.
