Foreign Office rejects Indian Home Minister’s statement on Indus Basin Treaty

The Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan fully respects the agreement and will take all necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests.
The Foreign Office spokesman reacted to the statement of the Indian Home Minister completely rejecting the restoration of the Indus Basin Agreement: “This statement is a blatant violation of the sanctity of international treaties and a manifestation of gross indifference. No room.
He said India’s illegal declaration to suspend the treaty was a blatant violation of international law, treaty provisions and fundamental principles of inter-state relations.
“This kind of behavior sets a very dangerous and irresponsible precedent, which damages the credibility of international agreements and calls into question the seriousness of a state that openly turns away from its legal commitments,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said that using water as a political weapon is irresponsible and contrary to internationally recognized state principles. India should immediately withdraw its unilateral and illegal stance and restore full and unimpeded implementation of the Indus Basin Agreement. Pakistan, for its part, fully respects this Agreement and will take all necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests.
