The Yemeni military announced on Wednesday that it has conducted 1,322 operations against Houthi military capabilities and positions. A spokesperson for the Yemeni military stated on the social media platform X that these actions resulted in the killing or incapacitation of approximately 340 fighters and commanders.

The spokesperson further claimed that the operations destroyed or damaged 114 pieces of equipment and military vehicles. According to the military statement, government forces have gained territory in Al-Jawf province as part of the "Dawn of Yemen" military operation. Specifically, units from the First and Third Emergency Divisions seized Houthi positions in Umm Lafifa, Qurun al-Sabir, and Duhaydat al-Aqir.

In southwestern Taiz province, government forces and allied popular resistance fighters reported making advances on several fronts. These forces reportedly repelled Houthi attempts to retake positions that had been lost. The military stated that its forces continued these operations while taking precautions to protect civilian infrastructure and civilians.

The "Dawn of Yemen" operation began on October 5 and aims to retake the capital, Sanaa, and regain control of state institutions from the Houthis. This offensive follows a resumption of fighting in July, which UN reports say killed and wounded thousands and displaced more than 250,000 people. These clashes ended a period of relative calm that had existed since April 2022.

Yemen has been in a state of civil war since the Houthis seized Sanaa and other provinces in September 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 to support the internationally recognized government.
