The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) condemned the detention of Qasim Khan, who was taken into custody while travelling to Adiala Jail. Sources confirm that Qasim Khan reached Adiala Jail on Tuesday.
Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that Qasim Khan had no involvement in any political activity. PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Barrister Gohar Khan stated that negotiations with the government reached a deadlock.
The deadlock, according to the leaders, resulted from the ruling side's refusal to meet the party's main demands. Raja confirmed that the PTI maintained that the door to dialogue remained open.
The PTI's two primary demands included gaining access to its founder and securing consultation on counter-terrorism policy within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Furthermore, the party expressed a desire for a consensus-based approach to counter-terrorism measures in K-P.
On Saturday, the two sides held a second round of talks. Initially, the discussions managed to agree upon a five-point framework.
However, the talks subsequently stalled over counter-terrorism operations in K-P and access to Imran.
